For over 30 years, Americana has been a vital hub of hope, belonging, and empowerment for Louisville’s refugee, immigrant, and underserved communities. Guided by the core values of human dignity and social justice, Americana provides holistic, trauma-informed services that meet the physical, emotional, and educational needs of individuals and families. Each year, more than 5,000 people from over 100 countries engage in programs that support youth achievement, family stability, adult education, mental health, crisis response, and economic self-sufficiency. From Adult ELL, GED, and citizenship classes to after-school programming to counseling to a women's fiber arts program to a vibrant community garden, Americana’s interconnected services and programs help participants overcome systemic barriers and trauma, build strong foundations, and move from surviving to thriving.

Since 1954, the Louisville Academy of Music has been the region’s largest non-profit music school. Each year, LAM serves over 5,000 individuals through community programming and provides private instruction to more than 600 students—guided by the belief that music is for everyone. Over the past five years, LAM has grown a need-based scholarship program that offers long-term support to students at our Frankfort Ave campus. Recognizing transportation as a barrier to music education, we’ve since expanded this initiative to provide scholarship lessons directly within JCPS schools. Through one-on-one lessons, group classes and community programs, LAM nurtures life-long musicians, not solely as musicians, but as creative, inspired people.
