Summer Symposium: Audio Production

Audio Production : learn the basics of recording and production to capture the showcase

Students enrolled in audio production track will learn the fundamentals of recording, editing and producing. Students will learn how to record various audio sources - focusing on microphone selection, placement and the use of field recorders. Students will apply their skills by assisting in recording, editing, and producing by the final Symposium performance. Audio production students will develop skills in music technology, ear training, and build familiarity with with equipment and editing software.

Why study audio production?

Recording is a universal skill that every musician will use at some point. Perhaps it’s for an upcoming audition in a school band or college, competition, music festival auditions or an upcoming album. With more technology on the rise, music production is becoming increasingly available to musicians of all ages and therefore making audio production an essential skill to all musicians.

Additional Production Day for showcase audio is Sunday June 25th 9am - 3pm

Audio Production Program Tuition: $395

Program includes:

  • group classes about the basics of music production and engineering

  • guidance in creating a professional recording of the summer symposium

  • instruction on audio production techniques

  • instruction of how to incorporate audio production into the music making process

  • group classes with all other symposium students

  • record and produce the final symposium showcase
