More about Music Together:
Music is a universal language. It transcends boundaries and reaches beyond culture to touch the depths of our souls, express our common emotions, and inspire us all. Music Together® connects families and communities across the globe as they express and explore our basic human instinct for making music. We believe that being a music-maker is as much a basic life skill as being a walker or a talker and that all children can achieve basic competence in music, provided their early music environment is sufficiently rich. Being a music-maker is our birthright - a basic human need.
Did you know all children are musical?
This research-based program is based on the belief that all children are musical. All children can learn to sing in tune and keep a steady beat and enjoy the music of their culture. But these activities are learned, and best learned through developmentally appropriate experiential activities and through the model of their primary caregivers.
What does this mean?
That children learn to sing the same way they learn to talk and walk and eat – through play and watching and imitating their primary caregivers, whether that means parent, grandparent, babysitter or nanny. And the families who make Music Together at Shine will tell you that the class is as much for them, as for their child!
