Singing is all done in unison to build skills in intonation and group singing, with the option of learning to sing in harmony depending on enrollment size. The choir will meet once a week for 45 minute sessions, and will perform in the Winter Recital at the end of a 9-week block. There will also be a chance for the choir to perform in an outreach concert with other LAM students.

Chamber Music with Jeffrey Jamner

APPLY by August 15th, 2019

WHY study chamber music? Unlike solo playing or playing with a conductor, students learn how to listen and respond to each other for timing and balance, and they have to learn to negotiate their interpretive choices as a group. This is one of the most important and powerful ways to grow as a musician. Students enrolled in this chamber music class will be placed in chamber music ensembles (duos, trios, quartets, etc.) with music students at a similar level. They will receive 10 coachings per semester with Jeff Jamner and with other LAM faculty, work on their parts as part of their weekly private lessons, and are encouraged to rehearse between coachings. Middle and high school students may wish to prepare for the Macauley Chamber Music Competition run by the Chamber Music Society of Louisville.

*Space is limited and assignments will be confirmed by September 1st on your acceptance into the program based on availability, level, and pairing with other applicants.

Dates: 10 coachings between September 15th-December 15th

Price: $200 for Semester
