Advanced Studio Techniques

Students will learn sampling (recorded audio) techniques that form the basis of everything from film music to formal electronic composition. Students will learn how to record, mix and master audio tracks in order to create original film scores or pieces for electronic ensembles. Price includes studio and gear access for the semester and a 2 hour private session.
Simple Sampling

Students will be introduced to samples (recorded audio) and the basics of electronic composition. Students will learn mic placement, audio routing, and how to record, mix and edit audio tracks - working towards creating an original film score. Price includes studio and gear access for the semester.

Electronic Composition: Stranger Things Edition

Ages: 14+
Learn how to use synthesizers, computers and audio editing software to compose music. This semester’s focus will be the synth-driven TV show: Stranger Things. Students will analyze themes and recreate sounds, gaining skills to compose their own score to a scene from the show. Topics covered will include composition, structure, harmony, waveforms, filters, EQ and mixing/mastering.
Price includes studio and gear access for the semester and a 2 hour private session.
