Welcome Phillip Morgan to our Faculty!

Phillip Morgan serves as Director of Music at Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church and Central Presbyterian Church, both in historic Old Louisville. Recently, Phillip has been invited to lead music in worship and present seminars on African American sacred music at several national gatherings of the Presbyterian Church (U.SA.) including the Presbyterian Women Annual Gathering, the Association of Presbyterian Christian Educators Annual Event, Big Tent, the Presbyterian Youth Triennium, and the Music and Worship Conferences at Montreat sponsored by the Presbyterian Association of Musicians, an organization of which he serves on the Executive Board of Directors. Dedicated to preserving the music traditions of African-Americans in both worship and concert, Phillip is the President of the Kentuckiana Branch of the National Association of Negro Musicians. He is also a member of the Louisville Chamber Choir and has performed as a soloist with the Louisville Orchestra, the Choral Arts Society and the Kentucky Opera.

Welcome John Little to our Faculty!

John Little  received the M.M. , and B.A. degrees from the University of Louisville , studied horn performance at The New School of Music in Philadelphia, Studied hand horn, and Baroque horn performance at Indiana University/Bloomington, and studied liberal arts at Haverford College. Mr. Little enjoys both teaching, and performing, and maintains a busy schedule of both. In the past he has served as Adjunct Professor of Horn at Centre College, Instructor of horn, and Music Theory at the University of Louisville Community Music Program, horn Instructor at the Settlement Music School of Philadelphia, and gives masterclasses on both the hand horn, and modern horn throughout the country. Mr Little has served as the Band Director for Sacred Heart Schools, and the Jackson Independent School System. Mr. Little is published on the subject of “Teaching the student with Aspergers”. His former students have won positions in the  orchestras of Louisville  Chicago Civic Orchestra, Annapolis Symphony,Santiago(Chile),and Richmond(Va).



In the performance world Mr. Little has been a member of the Starlight Horn Duo for two years, touring, and recording, as well as performing with the Orchestra Society of Philadelphia, Owensboro Symphony, Paducah Philharmonic, Derby Dinner Theater Pit Orchestra, Iroquois Show Pit Orchestra, Three Amigos Hand Horn Trio, and is an active soloist. He has appeared as guest soloist with the Kentuckiana Philharmonic, Jewish Community Center Orchestra, Christian Academy Wind Ensemble, been a featured artist at the conferences of the Kentucky Music Educators Association, Kentucky Music Teachers Association, Southern Indiana Organist Guild, Northeast Horn Workshop (Plattsburgh, New York), and the Ohio University Horn Festival. Mr. Little has recently been placed on the roster of performing artists with the Mozart for Munchkins series in New York, and San Francisco. He may be heard on “Blasts of Brass”, the cd.

Welcome Trumpeter Jon Wysong to our Faculty!

Welcome Jonathan Wysong to the LAM faculty! Jon is a trumpeter and arts administration professional based in Louisville. In his 20-year career, he has performed at venues such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Grand Ole Opry. Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Music in Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from the University of Louisville, and will soon hold a Master of Arts in Arts Administration from the University of Kentucky.

Piano Faculty releases CD!

Gyuli Kambarova, one of our piano faculty, has released a new CD "Memories" with the soundtracks that she composed for the documentary about orphans and their foster families called "You Are Not Alone!". Special thanks goes to Samir Kambarov and Alexey Fedirko who supported and worked with her on this project. 

She will host a cd release party Sunday, December 2, 2018 2-4 pm at LAM.

Mezzo-soprano Laura Atkinson joins our faculty this fall!!

Mezzo-soprano Laura C. Atkinson is an active performer in both the United States and in Germany. She has debuted with various orchestras in both countries, including the Nashville Symphony, New Haven Symphony, the Louisville Orchestra, the Oregon Bach Festival Orchestra, the Carmel Bach Festival Orchestra, the American Baroque Orchestra , the Gewandhaus Orchestra, and the Braunschweig Staatsorchester. Welcome Jeff Jamner to our Faculty!

We are so excited to welcome Jeffrey Jamner to our piano faculty at LAM! Jeff received his Bachelor of Music degree from Mannes College of Music, his Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from the University of Louisville, and his Doctor of Music degree in Piano Performance at the Manhattan School of Music. Jeff has done so much for music education in Kentucky and we are thrilled to have him as part of our musical community. 
Note: Due to his limited availability with his current position at The Kentucky Center he will only be teaching a limited studio by audition only.

LAM hires Sarah Cole to our Violin Faculty!

Meet Sarah Cole, our newest faculty member. Sarah Cole is graduating next month from the University of Louisville with a Master's in Violin Pedagogy after completing both a Master's and Bachelor's in Violin Performance in the UK and Ohio. She is a wonderful violinist and teacher and we are so happy to welcome her to the Academy.

She is currently accepting students of all ages and will start teaching Monday-Wednesday. Contact us to find your lesson time! 🎻
